Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Rangaraya Medical College ,Kakinada,AP.

On Jan 5-6 2008 Rangaga Raya Medical College(RMC) organized Golden Jubilee celebrations With the help of RMC old students association and RMC Alumni of North America.Honorable Chief minister Dr.Y.Rajasekar Reddy was the Chief Guest for the occasion.

On Jan 4 Various batches celebrated their class reunions.1st batch students celebrated their reunion in grand style at Grand Iswarya hotel.Dr.Jagan Kakarala has taken keen interest in organizing this event. Out of 110 1st Bach students of 1958, 58 members attended. Paid homage to the 25 colleagues who are no longer here. There are 11 colleagues in U.S.A .and 4 in U.K and one in Middle East. Of the 1st Bach students 3 became Principals of medical schools and 13 have become professors. 1st Bach students Received lot of accolades both in INDIA and ABROAD

Jan 5 started with Honorable CM Dr.Y.Raja sekar Reddy opening 24/7 library in pre-clinical campus,which was funded and constructed by RMC Alumni of North America.Dr.Veeraiah Chundu,President , Dr. Mohan Kesani,Secretary and Dr.Murthy Mutyala,convenor for RMC Alumni of North America took active role in this opening ceremony. Next significant event for the day was presentation of various awards by CM.

Life time achievement award was presented by Chief Minister R.S Reddy to Dr.Jagan Kakarala for his outstanding leadership in Medical Community, Philothrapic activities through various Charities and exemplary community service for the villages in India. Gold medal was awarded to Dr JAGAN KAKARALA for best, outstanding old student by the Chief Minister

Day continued with entertainment from old students of RMC and by famous music director and singer Sri SP Balasubramanyam.Grand Gala Banquet was held in open grounds near Men’s Hostel.Dr.Veeraiah Chundu,President of RMC alumni of North America announced the Check of 5 lakhs for RMC old students association building.Dr Indira Mutyala and Dr Lokesh Edara,Tresurer TANA foundation, presented the check on behalf of RMC alumni of North America(RMCANA).Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the mimicry by Dr.Kishore Kesani,Secretary of RMCANA.The day ended with great musical extravaganza by local entertainment group.
