Chairman’s Message
Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting the official website of “Federation of
Andhra Pradesh Medical Graduates in USA” (APMGUSA). My
sincere thanks to the members of this organization for giving me
an opportunity to serve Telugu community thru APMGUSA .
Our Mission: “To actively participate in Graduate Medical
Education programs and to develop a high quality Rural Health Care Program that is
accessible and affordable irrespective of Economic status. A comprehensive community
based program with emphasis on prevention and primary care with ongoing partnership
with Governmental and Non Governmental organizations.”
On July 4th, 2008, soon after I took over as Chairman, we signed MOU with NAANDI
Foundation located in Hyderabad regarding installation and maintenance of Clean Drinking
Water Plants in villages of Andhra Pradesh State. Several donors are already participating in
this program to help their own villages. I believe that preventing infectious diseases thru
clean drinking water will definitely improve the quality of life and the life expectancy in
these rural areas. Can you believe that in Andhra Pradesh State alone, an estimated 150
children die each day from diarrhea caused by unsafe drinking water.
A formal proposal was submitted to Govt. of A.P regarding Emergency Medical Care
Education, a statewide educational project in medical colleges and affiliated hospitals.
Working thru respective medical college Alumni Associations in USA, under “Train the
Trainer Program”, we are planning to offer programs such as AHA certified CPR courses,
ACLS Provider course, instructors course and statewide educational courses in CPR and
ACLS as needed. Our proposal to Government included establishment of “Emergency
Medical Care Education Dept.” in each medical college.
We are currently pursuing various other means of serving the rural areas thru ‘Adopt a
Village’ program in the State of Andhra Pradesh with the help from Governmental and Non
Governmental agencies. We are exploring the resources/partners to carry out activities such
as: General Physical Exams, Cancer Screening, Screening Endoscopy thru mobile units and
provision of treatment for ailments detected. As the things would materialize, ‘Adopt a
Village’ info shall be updated in our website.
I request you all to strengthen APMGUSA by recruiting new members and to join us in
achieving our common goal i.e. delivering quality rural health care to the needy people in the
State of Andhra Pradesh irrespective of their economic status. To sponsor a project of your
choice thru APMGUSA foundation , please visit our website www.apmgusa.org.
“It is the responsibility of one generation to plant the seed, so that the next
generation shall enjoy the shade.”
